Welcome to third grade! I am looking forward to another fun year!
This will be my 7th year teaching, and my second year in 3rd grade. I enjoy crafting, photography, and spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I travel whenever we can and have seen some amazing places, including most of the Caribbean, London, Paris, Switzerland, Venice, and Rome. We plan to visit Greece in 2021!
This year, our classroom will utilize flexible seating. Each morning, your child will choose which type of seat s/he would like to use for the day. We will have traditional chairs, standing desks, floor pillows, camping chairs, wobble stools, and traditional stools. We will review how to use them safely and appropriately before using them. I encourage students to try new options before repeating one to make sure they are making an informed decision.
As we learn and grow here at school, I ask that you support your child by asking about his/her day and encouraging him/her to read at home. As important as that is, it's also important to be a child and have fun! Spending time doing things we love is important to maintaining a healthy balance.
